Advanced Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding

Michaela is an empathetic paediatric dietitian, who believes in celebrating the differences found in each individual. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach, with the end goal of achieving adequate growth and improving the nutritional quality of the diet.

Her paediatric work experience includes inpatient wards, as well as general and healthy weight management outpatient paediatric clinics. She has worked with all ages, from neonates to adults. Her main interest area is working with children and adults who have suspected or been diagnosed with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Practicing within her scope, her approach is influenced by the foundational dietetic principles of CBT for ARFID, and the SOS approach to feeding.  She has also undertaken further professional development in disability-specific dietetic practice.

Michaela has a range of experience with the following:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome

In addition to private consulting, Michaela enjoys hiking, cooking, being in nature, and immersing herself in different cultural experiences.
